East Texas man arrested after making threats toward church

Updated: 9:08 AM CDT May 11, 2021 RUSK COUNTY, Texas An East Texas man has been arrested after officials say he mad threats toward a church in Rusk County. According to the Rusk County Sheriff s Office, officials received a tip that Luke Hickman made threats toward Landmark Missionary Baptist Church in Mount Enterprise. According to the RCSO, the posts were made on social media and an investigation began . A warrant was requested through the Rusk County Court at Law, and Hickman was located and taken into custody.  Credit: Rusk County Sheriff s Office The church was notified later that evening and security measures will be taken, according to Sheriff Johnwayne Valdez.

Cemetery restoration underway after tornado rips through Mount Enterprise The Campground Cemetery in Concord, a small community within Mount Enterprise was left in shambles after the tornado ripped through the area. Author: Marangeli Lopez Updated: 2:47 PM CDT April 9, 2021 CONCORD, Texas The community is still cleaning up after the tornado that ripped through parts of Mount Enterprise in Rusk County on March 27.  The Camp Ground Cemetery in the Concord community, near Mount Enterprise, got a bulk of the damage.  Headstones were broken and knocked over, uprooted trees and branches fell all over the ground, the fence that enclosed the area was blown over by the strong winds, and a trampoline from a nearby home somehow ended up on the cemetery grounds.

Enterprise church By Erin Wides | April 4, 2021 at 7:37 PM CDT - Updated April 5 at 6:24 AM MOUNT ENTERPRISE, Texas (KLTV) - A week after an EF-2 tornado devastated many in Rusk County, members of the First United Methodist Church in Mount Enterprise were able to meet for Easter service after their church was badly damaged. A joyful noise filled Concord Methodist Church this Easter morning, a few miles up the road from First United Methodist Church, which was damaged by last week’s tornado, and is their sister church.
