South-West Oxford Township residents will have a below-inflation increase on their property taxes this year.
The township council approved a final budget of about $9.6 million, requiring a levy of $6.131 million for a net increase of 1.77 per cent from last year. That translates to an estimated 1.03 per cent increase – or an extra $12.41 – for a home valued at $250,000.

“Council came in with a reasonable approach of wanting a budget at about the rate of inflation,” South-West Oxford Mayor David Mayberry said. “It’s more of a maintenance budget, and I think over the next year we’ll spend time to look at further financing fibre (optics for high-speed internet) and the different options.”
