Investigators say it appears that car was trying to escape the gunfire when it hit and killed a cyclist who just happened to be riding by. Police police are still trying to find whoever started shooting and wh. Just a few miles away from the shooting scene, another oakland neighborhood came together tonight to honor the victims in recent high profile attacks. Reporter well, about a half hour ago the battalion chief told me he pulled his firefighters 100 feet away from this home because he was concerned about a ruptured gasoline. I want to take you to the sky, news chopper 2 cab show you this burning home. I understand from the captain i spoke to a few minutes ago he told me they are still concerned about that ruptured gasoline and pg e are not here just yet so many of the residents have been told to say inside their homes. The vicepresident of the Neighborhood Association came here and was shoeing people back into their homes. The
campbell. the gunman accused of unleashing a deadly shooting rampage that killed 12 people at a colorado movie theater appeared in court for the first time today. the 24-year-old suspect was silent and spent much of the grief hearing looking down with a dazed look on his face. fox reporter alissia acuna is in central colorado to explain why it could take so long to find the motive. james holmes, making his first court appearance today, investigators say holmes is refusing to cooperate, and it could take months to learn exactly what prompted the attack on movie goers at the midnight batman film days ago. ordinarily individuals are titled to bail. given the nature of the charges, you are currently being held on a no bond hold. i just have all this anger built up. reporter: two girls who were in the theater in the shooting, one with a bullet lodged in her chin, say they want to be in court to see holmes begin to face the justice system. for how much hurt he s done to
