Health Department expands COVID vaccine availability
NEWARK – The Licking County Health Department has expanded the availability for COVID-19 vaccinations, offering the vaccine through upcoming clinics at remote locations.
LCHD will offering the Johnson & Johnson COVID-19 vaccine to individuals without an appointment at two remote locations on Wednesday May 26. The Johnson & Johnson vaccine can be given to individuals at least age 18 and is a one-dose vaccine that does not require a second visit.
The locations are: Salvation Army, 250 E. Main St., Newark, from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.; and Licking County Aging Program, 1058 E. Main St., Newark, 2:30-4 p.m.

Free Licking County Transit rides available to vaccine clinics
Licking County Transit Board received grant funding from the Ohio Department of Transportation to provide free transportation to and from all vaccine clinics in Licking County.
Community members can call Transit to request service to a vaccine clinic, letting the dispatcher know it s for a COVID-19 vaccine. To schedule a ride, call 740-670-5185 and press 1 or call 1-800-350-7071.
