Thousands of wreaths were placed on the graves of fallen soldiers at the Mound City National Cemetery on Saturday as part of the national Wreaths Across America campaign.
When volunteers fan out across Mound City National Cemetery during Wreaths Across America Day, some of those graves that will receive a wreath bear the simple but poignant inscription, “Unknown U.S. Soldier.”
