This Saturday, July 31, Motorco Music Hall in Durham will host the Amy Ray Band (with S.G. Goodman) as part of a series of outdoor shows called Live! in the Lot.
Best known as one half of the Indigo Girls, Amy Ray has also been successful as a solo artist for two decades. She’s released six solo albums, most recently 2018’s “Holler” – and earlier this month she released a brand new single, “Chuck Will’s Widow.”
This week, Aaron Keck debuted the new single during “Live & Local” on 97.9 The Hill and spoke with Ray about the upcoming show – as well as her time spent during the pandemic, the feeling of getting back on stage again, and her close connection to the Triangle’s local music scene, including artists like the Butchies and H.C. McEntire.
