Clann na nGael members to tackle two day run TWO Clann na nGael GAA Club members are currently undertaking a gruelling running challenge. Noel McDermott and Niall Kerlin are tackling the daunting David Goggins Challenge, which will see them complete four miles every four hours for 48 hours. They began their efforts this morning (Friday), finishing two days later on Sunday morning. The pair are tackling the challenge for two charities close to their hearts – Motor Neurone Disease Association Northern Ireland and Western ICP Respiratory Pathway (a home respiratory care team). Popular former Tor Bank School principal loses fight with terminal illness

A former principal awarded an OBE for services to Special Education has sadly passed away at home on Wednesday. Colm Davis retired from his position as head teacher of at Tor Bank School, Dundonald, in 2017, a year after he was diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease when the condition took away his ability to speak. His family have asked for donations to either Motor Neurone Disease Association Northern Ireland, Marie Curie or Northern Ireland Hospice in lieu of flowers. Mr Davis, who is survived by his wife Victoria and three children, Victoria, Amy and Colm, will be remembered for his tireless fundraising efforts for the Motor Neurone charities and for his positive outlook on life.
