Mac Millerâs family has issued a new statement condemning the release of a forthcoming book on the rapper called
Most Dope: The Extraordinary Life of Mac Miller, written by Paul Cantor. âThis book is not authorized or endorsed by Malcolmâs family and has been written by a writer with whom Malcolm did not have a relationship,â the statement reads.
It continues: âFurthermore, the writer had no meaningful access to those that were closest to Malcolmâfriends, family, collaborators etc. In fact, the writer of this book was made aware at the outset of the process of writing this book that the family and friends of Malcolm were uncomfortable with him authoring this biography, yet he chose to proceed against our polite insistence that he not do disservice to Malcolmâs legacy through writing a book without legitimate primary sources.â
Who s next?
Find out who s coming up strong on the Jersey Shore hip-hop scene at the Bless the Mic livestream on Sunday, March 7, from the Saint in Asbury Park.
The show will feature live performances by more than a dozen area talents over three hours. It s talent and staff only at the Saint no audience.
“It s a nice challenge for the performers to really test their chops as live performers because you really have to feed on your own energy and really try to engage the people at home,” said Rodney Coursey, whose Garden State Hip-Hop is presenting the show with Alpha Code and Heavy Hittas.
