A Nanton homeowner with a single-family dwelling assessed at $237,966 – the average assessed value for a residential property – pays $3,042 this year. Of that, the homeowner pays $2,186 in municipal tax, $56 for police funding, $19 for Family and Community Services (FCSS), $63 to the library, $97 to the Mosquito Creek Foundation, which operates local seniors’ residences including the Silver Willow Lodge, and $621 in school taxes.
Last year, a homeowner with a single-family dwelling assessed at the average value $243,438 paid a total of $2,975 in property taxes.
