scientists they can crack the case. the smallest piece of evidence. smart scientists and investigators sitting in a room looking at a piece of evidence and saying what about this? we know this was a gruesome and complicated crime scene for investigators. labs tell us the swab and test the blood to check how many people s dna is on there and find out if that blood is mixed in with someone else s. to find out who it is they have to run it through one of their labs and they explained that to us. listen. if you have a mixture of multiple individuals dna it will take longer because it takes an expert scientist trained in mixture interpretation to be able to look at that type of sample. it s complicated stuff going on inside the lab. they tried to break it down for us. moscow p.d. spent two hours
photo up there with the reward offering information? that sounds like you re trying to like suppress the story. i mean, why do you not need help? martha: you can hear the frustration in the goncalves voices there. christina coleman is live on the ground in moscow where she s been covering this story. his, christina. hi, we just got the update from moscow p.d. it does not state some big break in this case. apparently there were two guys at a local business with kaylee at one point. one of them appeared to follow her in to the local business. he didn t make any contact with her. they were cleared from the crime. also, a dog that was in the house during the time of the murders was not in one of the room where the attacks occurred. so that is really the take-aways from that update. again, police are still trying to track down a suspect. but idaho state police does say that they are making progress in this case.
they know that moscow p.d. called in for additional resources immediately after responding to this horrific crime. it s basically all hands on deck. the first call went to the chief. the third call went to the idaho state police. the crime lab was called out. but kaylee s parents are still very frustrated with the lack of information that s being shared on this investigation. it seems like they re trying to suppress the story. we want to put rewards out. they re like don t do that. i get it. your town doesn t want reward posters posted all over when you do your rush. you re not going to get a lot of students if they see those things, this community is not going to heal until this guy is pulled off the streets. it ain t going to happen. think it through. it s not going to happen. he has to be off the streets. we re all working for the same thing. kaylee s father says out of
the murders took place, the university of idaho campus was in shock. we saw students fleeing this campus and parents demanding their kids come home. even with that killer still out there and police say that they don t have any clues or person of interest even, we re starting to see students come back on campus. we re also seeing here on campus a lot of security. university officials put out word that student safety is their number one priority and they are flooding this relatively small campus with cops and private security guards. we see officers from moscow p.d. state police and guards from a company that usually does event security. they ll have patrols 24/7 to keep students safe and for them to feel secure as they return for the last three weeks of this semester. return they did. i would guess a majority returned. one professor told me all but three of his 60 students are back in class in person.
