Jackson County man unintentionally shoots own leg at work, police say

JACKSON COUNTY, MI – A man shot himself in the leg while at work in Grass Lake Township Monday morning, police said.
The 33-year-old Summit Township man was working at 11:37 a.m., Feb. 8, in the 11000 block of Morrissey Road when he was shot in the leg, the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office said.
He is a concealed pistol license holder and was carrying a concealed gun, which is registered to him, when it got caught on a machine and fired, police said.
The man was taken to Henry Ford Allegiance Health by ambulance, where he was treated for injuries that were not life-threatening, police said.
