Saskatchewan’s Minister of Mental Health and Addictions has directed the Saskatchewan Health Authority to create 13 sites where people can use illicit drugs under medical supervision, braving new waters for a province that has never publicly funded that type of program.
Minister Everett Hindley said it will be offered in hotels and other sites the health authority operates for people under COVID-19 self-isolation orders, part of a suite of measures designed to help people who use drugs quarantine successfully.
