Sheriff’s captain Luke Niles told the Yucca Valley Town Council that while calls for service for crime-related calls have remained pretty steady over the last year, that hasn’t been the case for other types of calls.

Southern California Edison will be replacing power poles on Highway 62 in the Morongo Grade this weekend. The work will take place 11 p.m. Sunday, April 11 to 10 a.m. Monday, April 12. During the pole work, there will be intermittent full closures of SR 62 during these hours. Traffic holds for up to ten minutes are expected. Motorists are advised to add time to their trip and to follow all traffic direction from SCE and CHP.
