not me. rachel: here is the tweet. she said let s stay in this together, d.c., by masking up. we can protect our community and keep d.c. open. so that policy that she was going to implement going into effect on saturday or sunday. pete: saturday. rachel: on friday she went and partied with dave chappelle and others. lawrence: i love dave chappelle, but they got a problem going on in the city which is crime is up. you got shootings happen all over the place. a young girl was killed there. they finally solved that murder case but it is night after night. it is becoming the new chicago. this is every city. so why are the leaders able to go have fun? because they have security details. pete: exactly right. look at numbers. one covid death from july 14th to 28th. and 11 homicides in washington, d.c. which one, including three shootings by the way last night.
were involved in this. some of them even perished. for them to understand the history allows them to move us forward. pete: captain, the tunnel to towers they re doing the never forget walk. we re covering it all morning. it is kicking off where you re at today, when you think of we re showing a map right now from washington, d.c., to shanksville, pennsylvania, to new york city, have we learned the right lessons 20 years later? are we internalizing them as a nation? i think that over time things get diluted a little bit. that is why it is so important to continue to support organizations like tunnel to towers. what they re doing, trying to make sure the memories of our fallen remain fresh so we can carry on. basically we can carry the torch. use their wisdom and knowledge to build a better future. rachel: that is interesting. i have young kids in high school. sometimes they re not even taught anything on 9/11 about 9/11. it is actually kind of become a
