Issa Rae is set to deep dive into the world of Black 20-somethings living in the City of Angels via her new HBO Max reality series
Sweet Life: Los Angeles, the streaming service announced on Tuesday.
Per its official description,
Sweet Life: Los Angeles will explore “what it means to be young, Black, and in constant pursuit of one’s dreams in the heart of South Los Angels.”
The series will center on “a group of young, strong-willed, ambitious Black friends showcasing their relatable, authentic and sometimes stumbling mid-20s moments as they embrace the joy and struggles of love and family, while building their careers as tastemakers and influencers in the city where they grew up.”

Washington [US], May 19 (ANI): Actor-producer Issa Rae, in collaboration with HBO Max and Miramax, will be reviving the Project Greenlight docuseries.
As per Variety, the critically acclaimed docuseries originally spotlighted first-time filmmakers on HBO. The new Project Greenlight series will focus on talented female filmmakers who are given the chance to direct a feature film.
Rae will appear in every episode as an executive producer, providing guidance and mentorship to aspiring filmmakers. The finished film will then premiere on HBO Max. WarnerMedia-owned US streamer HBO Max has ordered a reality series rom Insecure creator and star Issa Rae that will follow a group of young black friends as they try to make it in LA.
Produced by Rae’s prodco Hoorae alongside Main Event Media and Morning Dew Pictures, Sweet Life: Los Angeles will look at what it means to be young, black and in constant pursuit of one’s dreams in the south of the city.
Rae, Montrel McKay, Jimmy Fox, Sheri Maroufkhani, Leola Westbrook and Sun de Graaf serve as executive producers, while Rajah Ahmed and Pyongson ‘Sunny’ Yim are co-executive producers. Sara Rastogi and Ashley Calloway produce.
