Mashpee High School Class of 2021 graduate Morgan James Peters II, known professionally as The ZYG 808, has earned 11 scholarships from the local community that will help him to pursue his music career at Goddard College in Plainfield, Vermont, this fall.
Morgan received five scholarships that are arts- and academics-based, four of them requiring work samples to be considered for the award. The NAACP Cape Cod Branch was one of these five organizations to award Morgan a scholarship for his work in music. Since 2018, Morgan has been the chair of the youth committee there. The Alexander Holmes Scholarship from the Cape Cod Cultural Center was another music-based scholarship Morgan received for his composition work.
