Prosecutors say logan beaschler, Joseph Bomgardner and colin warren used racial slurred and put a bike lock around his neck when they shared a dorm in 2013. The judge declared a mistrial for the other two defendants after the jury deadlocked on the hate crime charge. But we believe the evidence very strongly supported that these acts were motivated in whole and in part by bigotry. The former students will be sentenced march 14th. An attorney for bumgardner refused comments until a civil lawsuit filed by the victim is settled.
