Players were selected based on 2019 spring high school performance, offseason observations and conversations with coaches:
PRESEASON ALL-STATE SOFTBALL TEAM
Catcher: Sydney Wells, Selah, sr.
Arm talent runs in the family – she is the daughter of ex-MLB pitcher Bob Wells. But this Fordham signee also hits moonshots and has speed.
Corner infielder: Alysia Fraly, Prairie, jr.
The last time anyone saw this all-4A GSHL third baseman, she was damaging concession stands with her long home runs as a ninth grader in 2019.
Corner infielder: Kaiea Higa, Tahoma, jr.
This third baseman is arguably the best slugger in the state, and committed to Oregon State where her mom (Michelle Trujillo-Higa) played.

CORVALLIS – The Oregon State softball team has added Morgan Flesland and Kiani Nakamura to its 2021 signing class, head coach Laura Berg announced Friday.
Morgan Flesland – P/1B/OF, Fr., Colbert, Wash. (Mt. Spokane High School)
Flesland joins the Beavers as a pitcher/first base/outfielder from Colbert, Wash. She was an All-Washington selection in 2019, and was ranked among the top four pitchers in the state. Flesland helped her team reach as high as No. 15 in the PGF rankings at the U16 level, and made PGF Platinum Nationals one time.
According to Berg: Morgan brings a special skill set being a lefty in the circle. She s very athletic with a strong work ethic and will compete as a utility player as well.
