Think of
Dungeons & Dragons and you may think of subterranean labyrinths, hoards of treasures and battling legendary monsters. You also may think of the late 20th or very early 21st century, if you’re not familiar with it now. Despite its popularity in 2004, when it was the best-selling role-play game in the United States, D&D – as it’s commonly known – is making a resurgence in 2021, especially in different formats like on the stage. In the capital, at least four shows at this year’s Fringe Festival, which runs from February 26 to March 20, involve D&D.
