Moreland Hills neighborhoods on edge after burglaries Typically quiet neighborhoods in Moreland Hills on edge after burglaries By Jim Nelson | February 2, 2021 at 7:14 PM EST - Updated February 2 at 7:15 PM MORELAND HILLS, Ohio (WOIO) - A typically quiet and seemingly safe neighborhood in Moreland Hills is on edge on after a pair of burglaries that police believe could be linked to others in Northeast Ohio. “Well, it’s a quiet neighborhood really,” said Bob Sanders, who has lived in the area for about 30 years. “It’s not something you’d expect in this area.” Two homes were burglarized Saturday evening; police said money, jewels and other valuables were stolen.

According to Chief Kevin Wyant, the burglaries happened between 8 and 9 p.m. and the suspects broke a window to enter both homes. Officers responded to one home after the security alarm was activated. The second burglary was discovered after the resident returned home. Wyant said three people were seen on video getting in and out of a van.
