Kade Ellinger is using personal experience with depression and anxiety along with his artistic talents in the hope of sparking a conversation about mental and emotional health.
His exhibit, “Chiggity-Check Yourself Before You Wreck Yourself,” is showing through February at Feathers Artist Market and Gifts in Irwin.

Have you ever strolled the streets of Ligonier, thinking, “I could really go for a bubble tea right now”?
Until recently, you might have been out of luck but now you can stroll up East Main Street to Tylers Bakery & Cafe to satisfy your craving.
The eatery specializes in bubble teas, offering both the boba and tapioca varieties. And in what might be another singularity for Ligonier, it also has kombucha on tap.

This year’s Ligonier Ice Fest will celebrate “30 years of cool fun,” said event chair Cindy Purnell.
The frozen festivities are scheduled for Jan. 23-24 in Ligonier Diamond Park and the surrounding downtown area.
Whether it’s 7 degrees or 70, Purnell said, the event will have all the visitor favorite features that folks have come to expect in the festival’s three-decade history chief among them the dozens of carvings from DiMartino Ice Co. in Jeannette.
Greensburg-area eateries are cooking up special menus for Greensburg Restaurant Week, scheduled for Jan. 25-31.
About 20 restaurants are expected to participate, according to Ashley Kertes, executive director of Greensburg Community Development Corp., which organizes the semiannual event.
During the week, local restaurants typically offer reduced or fixed price menus, from casual lunches to fine dining dinner experiences. Many will showcase a three-course meal, often including a beverage, topping out at $35.
Specials might be a little different this year, Kertes said, with participants adjusting to pandemic-driven changes, including some diners’ preference for takeout and restaurant seating capacity capped at 50%.
“Some people are still afraid to go into the restaurants, so we still want them to be able to enjoy the week,” Kertes said.
