Secretary of State rep gives commissioners an elections recap

MANSFIELD - While dozens of states are considering voting changes, some look to Ohio for guidance when it comes to elections. That s what a representative of Ohio Secretary of State Frank LaRose told the Richland County Commissioners Thursday.
ShoMore DeNiro, LaRose’s Northeast Ohio regional liaison, recapped the 2020 elections in the state. DeNiro said LaRose had guidelines in place for boards of election to conduct the 2020 primary election on schedule before increasing concerns over the COVID pandemic forced a delay. She said the decision to delay the primary “ultimately” came down to Gov Mike DeWine’s decision and Health Director Dr. Amy Acton’s position on the health risks at that time.
