When the number of corruption and frauds becomes extremely large in a society or nation, even the law-and-order machinery may not be able to cope with and the whole system spirals out of control. So we cannot take everything for granted, and need to be proactive and work on it and there comes the vital role of moulding the citizens from the childhood itself with moral and civic education to make them better citizens of tomorrow, writes Dr Premachandran, member of the working group in the Kerala State Planning Board, and former Senior Fellow at National University of Singapore.
