Two men were arrested on charges of raping and murdering a 10-year-old boy in Karachi s Moosa Colony, the police said on Tuesday.
On December 9, the child s body was found in a garbage can near the Federal B area. A cloth had been tied around his neck.
According to his family, the child had gone out to play with his friends on December 9 but never returned home. After searching the area, his father registered a missing person complaint at the Gulberg police station.
Transgender person found dead

The body of a transgender person was found at his house in Malirâs Millat Garden on Tuesday. Rescuers transported the body to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre for medico-legal formalities where the person was identified as Amir alias Maria. The Al-Falah police said he lived alone in the house, and was killed with a sharp-edge material over unexplained reasons.
A day ago, the Sharifabad police had found the body of a boy who had gone missing when he had been playing around his house in Moosa Colony on December 9. According to the police, the body was found near Zainab Square in FC Area. Rescuers had transported the body to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for medico-legal formalities where he was identified as 10-year-old Salman, son of Azam. The family has accused the Gulberg police of using delaying tactics, saying that they had registered a case on December 13.

The body of a 10-year-old boy was found in a garbage can in Karachi’s Moosa Colony, the police said on Monday.
According to his family, the child had gone out to play with his friends on December 9 but never returned home. After searching in the area, his father registered a missing person complaint at the Gulberg police station.
“We went to the police at 5pm but they just wouldn’t file the complaint,” the victim’s uncle said. “They finally registered the FIR at 2am.”
Minor boy found hanged a week after going missing

The Sharifabad police on Monday found the body of a boy who had gone missing when he had been playing around his house in Moosa Colony on December 9.
According to the police, the body was found near Zainab Square in FC Area. Rescuers transported the body to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for medico-legal formalities where he was identified as 10-year-old Salman, son of Azam.
The family accused the Gulberg police of using delaying tactics, saying that they registered a case on December 13.
The police said they were trying to obtain CCTV footage from the cameras installed in surroundings where the kidnapping took place. The boy was apparently tortured and was then hanged to death.
Housemaid, husband arrested for killing elderly woman

A housemaid and her husband were arrested for their alleged involvement in the murder of an elderly woman in the Gulberg area of District Central on Saturday.
According to police, the tragic incident took place at a house located near Tahir Villa within the jurisdiction of the Gulberg police station. The body of the deceased woman was transported to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for an autopsy where she was identified as 85-year-old Noor Jahan.
Reacting to the information, police also reached the property and inquired into the incident. Police said the arrested woman used to work as a housemaid at the elderly womanâs house where the latter caught her red-handed stealing valuables, upon which she strangled her to death and escaped.
