Updated: Share Article AAA A convention of devotees and seers will be held in Hubballi on February 28 and over 250 seers from different mutts are expected to participate. Addressing presspersons here on Saturday, Sadashivanand Swami of Gadag said that the convention will be held at Sadashivanand English Medium School at Bhairidevarakoppa in Hubballi. The seer said that first a convention of devotees will be held at 10 a.m. and subsequently at 2.30 p.m. convention of seers of various mutts would be held. Kadasiddheshwar Swami of Kanheri Mutt, Kolhapur will chair both the conventions, he said. Shankararoodha Swami of Mudhol said that the convention was being held with the objective of protecting religious institutions like mutts, devotees, and the religion. A federation of seers had been formed for the purpose of conducting social activities. Addressing presspersons in Hubballi in the wake of Chairman of KLE Society Prabhakar Kore clarifying that there is nothing illegal about land donation, the swami said that there are several contradictions in Mr. Kore’s statement and donation has been made in violation of the arbitration agreement reached before the arbitrator appointed by the Supreme Court.

Updated: Share Article AAA Reacting to the ongoing controversy surrounding the issue of donation of Moorusavir Mutt land to the KLE Society, chairman of KLE Society and former Rajya Sabha member Prabhakar Kore on Wednesday has clarified that late seer of the mutt Gangadhara Rajayogindra Swami had voluntarily donated the mutt land to the society and had done so before the Charity Commissioner. Addressing presspersons along with directors of the society and Mahanthesh Kavatagimath, MLC, and Shankrananna Munavalli in Hubballi on Wednesday, Mr. Kore categorically stated that KLE Society belonged to society and, through donations from mutts and individuals it had been able to set up educational institutions across the State.

The swami, while delivering a discourse after the foundation stone laying ceremony for the Jagadguru Gangadhar Mahaswamiji Moorusavir Mutt Medical College and KLE Hospital near Gabbur Cross in Hubballi, defended the mutt’s decision to donate the land for the college and said that it was done in accordance with the wish of the late Gangadhar Rajayogindra Swami.

Union Minister lays foundation stone for Moorusavir Mutt Medical College at Gabbur Cross in Hubballi Union Minister for Parliamentary Affairs, Coal and Mines Pralhad Joshi has said that the Union government’s plan was to set up one medical college for every three districts in the country and it was working towards facilitating the benefit. Addressing a public gathering after laying the foundation stone for the Jagadguru Gangadhar Mahaswamiji, Moorusavir Mutt Medical College and KLE Hospital near Gabbur Cross in Hubballi on Thursday, Mr. Joshi said that earlier the slogan was for providing Roti, Kapada Aur Makaan (food, cloth and shelter), while now medicine too had been added to the list. “In the last five years, permission has been given for 157 medical colleges across the country and Hubballi’s KLE Hospital is one among them,” he said.
