I was inside the building for the ghost ship preliminary hearing and heard all the commotion when the bomb squad was called in for the second time today. Streets were blocked off by Oakland Police after a man left a backpack outside the building at 10 30 a. M. The 26yearold man then went inside the courthouse and was confronted by deputies who asked why he left the backpack there. Authorities say he got into a struggle with the deputies and attacked them. He was detained and will be placed on a psychiatric hold. Now, as for his backpack, the Sheriffs Office did not want to take any chances. We were overhead in skyfox as the sheriffs bomb squad suited up to inspect the backpack with an xray. It turned out not to be an explosive device and the all clear was given at about 12 30.
