The Monument Senior Center was packed with locals and people from out of town for the 6th annual Monument Buckaroo Festival and Harvest Auction.
The well-attended event, which saw about 150 people this year, is put on to raise money for the operation of the senior center, which includes a library, a large meeting room, a kitchen, dining hall and back outdoor space for people to gather.
The annual event is an attraction not only for county residents and those in neighboring Wheeler County, but for folks from across the state who for different reasons enjoy the event as a place to see friends, family and take in the festive atmosphere. Attendees enjoyed a taco lunch put on by the local 4-H group and an Elk and Salmon dinner was also served to help raise funds.
