A man linked to the killing of a Chicago police officer is asking to be released on bond after a court petition claimed no bail prior to his trial in "excessive."

Jamel Danzy of Indiana, has pleaded guilty to purchasing a firearm for an Illinois resident who allegedly used the gun to kill Chicago officer Ella French.
