Carl Pierre had no idea the 3-pointer he hit with 8 minutes, 3 seconds remaining Saturday at Rhode Island moved him into second place on UMass’ career list.
The senior captain was more concerned that it put the Minutemen ahead by eight late in a 75-63 victory.
It was his fourth of five 3s in the game, a season high, and the 277th of his career. He was fourth on the list at the start of the game but passed No. 3 Anthony Anderson (275) and No. 2 Ricky Harris (276).
