The stretch of Ste. Catherine St. E. between Papineau Ave. and St. Hubert St. will be closed to motorists starting May 26, until October 4.
Since 2008, the iconic Village strip has shut down every summer to help attract tourists and support the more than 150 local businesses in the area.
In an Instagram post, Village Montréal promised new installations and events for all this season.
Having pedestrianized the Village portion of Ste. Catherine Street to make way for special events in the past, the Village has been a hot spot in the summer thanks to the more than 50 terraces to choose from, such as Le Saloon and Sky Nightclub.
