A 50-year-old man is in critical condition after being hit by a car, marking the second day in a row that a pedestrian has been struck on Montreal roads.
The province's transport minister says the government is dedicating more than $180 million to realize the plan aimed at bolstering safety on Quebec roads.
Witnesses told Montreal police the driver of a minivan was heading east on Bourret Avenue when she hit a parked car and two pedestrians. Both women struck were rushed to hospital.
Nicolas Marcotte said he recorded 44 cars committing infractions at the Montreal intersection in the span of one hour. Cars can be seen ignoring a no left turn sign.
