During this pandemic, many Illinois towns have altered the way they celebrate Christmas. Community events like parades and Christmas gatherings have been canceled for revised to promote social distancing. Tricia Herrera, executive director of the Rochelle Chamber of Commerce, said this year’s Christmas parade was changed because of the pandemic. “This year we changed it up a little and did a “reverse” parade so the cars with the viewers moved and the floats stayed stationary, so it was COVID friendly,” Herrera said.
