An eastern suburbs private boys school has become the latest to open its door to girls at the same time Sydney has its first new single-sex school in almost 15 years with the opening of an Islamic college in the western suburbs.
Champagnat Catholic College, a Marist Brothers school in Maroubra, will become one of just a handful of co-educational schools in the east from 2023, while Muslim Girls Grammar School has opened on a former TAFE site in Granville.
