Montgomery County recorded four new coronavirus-related fatalities Thursday, bringing the death toll to 1,280.
The county has a rolling seven-day average of 5.11% for positive COVID-19 tests, which is a decrease of 0.11 from Wednesday’s average rate of 5.22%. The positivity rate continues to drop and for the ninth straight day, the rate is below 6%. Only five jurisdictions in Maryland Allegany County, Baltimore City, Baltimore County, Garrett County, and Kent County have a lower rate.

The Maryland Department of Health reported 326 new COVID-19 cases in Montgomery County Thursday morning. The county’s cumulative case count is currently 58,011.
Montgomery County recorded two new coronavirus-related fatalities Thursday, bringing the death toll to 1,250.
The county has a rolling seven-day average of 5.63% for positive COVID-19 tests, which is a decrease of 0.28 from Wednesday’s average rate of 5.91%. The positivity rate continues to drop and for the second straight day, the rate is below 6%. Only three jurisdictions in Maryland Baltimore City, Baltimore County, and Kent County have a lower rate.
With 1,250 COVID-19 related fatalities, Montgomery County leads the state in fatalities but not in total cases. Prince George’s County has the most coronavirus cases in the state with 66,888 cases and 1,191 fatalities.
