OTTAWA Ottawa Public Health is reporting its lowest daily COVID-19 case count in nearly a month. The public health unit said 48 more people in Ottawa have tested positive for COVID-19, a figure not seen since Dec. 29, 2020. No new deaths were reported for a second day in a row, leaving the city s pandemic death toll at 419 residents. Public Health Ontario reported 1,958 new cases of COVID-19 reported across the province. Ontario also reported 43 new deaths and 2,448 new resolved cases on Monday. The province added 51 new cases of COVID-19 in Ottawa. Figures from the province and from OPH often differ due to different data collection times, but each respective authority s total cases are similar, with Ontario reporting 12,979 cases versus Ottawa Public Health s 12,977.
OTTAWA COVID-19 trends in Ottawa continue to show improvement following a lower case count on Sunday. Ottawa Public Health reported 76 more people in the city have tested positive for COVID-19, a lower figure than the 92 new cases reported on Saturday. The number of active cases continues to fall, as does the weekly per capita rate. OPH also reported no new deaths in Ottawa for the first time since Jan. 16. There were 17 COVID-19 related deaths reported in Ottawa from Jan. 17 to Jan. 23. In all, 419 residents of Ottawa have died since the start of the pandemic. Ontario health officials are reporting 99 new cases of COVID-19 in Ottawa on Sunday, but the gap between the two health authorities is closing.
OTTAWA For the fourth time in five days, health officials are reporting less than 100 new cases of COVID-19 in a single day in Ottawa. Ottawa Public Health reported 87 new cases of COVID-19 in Ottawa on Friday, along with one new death linked to the virus. Since the first case of COVID-19 on March 11, there have been 12,761 cases of COVID-19, including 416 deaths. The 87 new cases of COVID-19 on Friday follows a one-day spike on Thursday, when 180 new cases of COVID-19 were reported in Ottawa. There were 67 new cases on Wednesday, 56 cases on Tuesday and 85 new cases on Monday. Across Ontario, health officials reported 2,662 cases of COVID-19 on Friday. There are 779 new cases of COVID-19 in Toronto, 542 cases in Peel Region and 228 in York Region.

Ottawa Public Health is reporting 67 more people in Ottawa have tested positive for COVID-19 and two more people have died. OPH reported 56 new cases of COVID-19 in the city on Tuesday and 85 on Monday and also reported two new deaths each day. Ontario health officials reported 2,655 new cases of COVID-19 reported provincewide on Wednesday. Ontario also reported 89 new deaths and 3,714 resolved cases on Wednesday. According to Ottawa Public Health s COVID-19 dashboard, there have been 12,494 total lab-confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Ottawa since the pandemic began and 409 residents have died.
