The IndyCar series returned to WeatherTech Raceway in 2019 after a 15-year absence. It was canceled in 2020 because of the COVID-19 pandemic, but its four recent editions on the Monterey Peninsula were all held at the end of the season in September. The new dates next year will be the first June IndyCar race on the peninsula in 21 years.
In a world where inequality has taken way too many new forms because of ease of access to social media, a $30 million car flaunted at an automotive event.
It’s ironic that racing has a finish line, because racing never truly finishes. It’s more apt to say that racing just goes on pause between various starting lines.
