Along with the Rental Assistance that city leaders in Monterey want to continue providing, a Monterey County Supervisor has proposed providing burial assistance to some of the families of the more than 300 county residents who have lost a loved one to Covid-19. On Tuesday, the members of the Monterey County Board Of Supervisors plan to consider the proposal, that would use funding from a 2-billion dollar FEMA program (that aims to offer financial assistance straight to the funeral homes). The program could also help pay to return a deceased person s remains to Mexico for burial if that is what that is preferred.
