Montenegrin PM gives personal apology for Srebrenica genocide victims

Montenegrin Prime Minister Zdravko Krivokapić said in Sarajevo on Monday that he was deeply sorry for all the victims of the 1995 Srebrenica genocide and recalled that he had demanded the dismissal of his cabinet’s minister after he had downplayed that war crime against local Bosniaks. “My attitude towards Srebrenica is clear. It was because of the issue of Srebrenica why I launched the procedure of the dismissal of (the justice) minister, although I was aware that an attempt to topple the government might have been behind those events”, the visiting premier told a press conference in Sarajevo after meeting with Bosnia and Herzegovina’s Prime Minister, Zoran Tegeltija.

Montenegrin government plans to sign agreement with Serbian Orthodox Church

The Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS), the biggest opposition party, called on Montenegrin Prime Minister Zdravko Krivokapić to announce the details of the agreement with the Serbian Orthodox Church (SPC) as soon as possible and to start a public debate on what they said was a very important issue. “I talked to His Holiness Patriarch Porfirije and we’re soon to agree on the date of signing the agreement. This issue must not be the subject of politicization or subterfuge for making political gains,” Krivokapić wrote on Twitter.  The issue of real estate owned by SPC became a political problem almost two years ago when the former government decided to take control of the assets. The government passed the Freedom of Religion Act which tried to enroll the church property created before 1918 as its property.
