Caretakers to have opportunity to attend series of workshops
Contributed
The Superior Alliance for Independent Living will be hosting a series of workshops for caregivers via Zoom next month.
Caregiving can either be formal or informal, family, friend, neighbor or agency. The workshop series is a curriculum that has been used for over a year that is developed by the University of Montana Rural Institute, the Department of Health and Human Services and the National Institute on Disability.
The series covers topics such as advocacy, goal setting, healthy communications, physical activity, etc. This is a way for caregivers to learn ways to help individuals be more independent. The series consists of 10 modules each lasting about an hour. Currently, they are scheduled twice a week for five weeks. These will be held virtually over Zoom each Wednesday at 11 a.m. Friday for five weeks.
