Bruce Springsteen sister appeared in Fast Times at Ridgemont High

View Comments Yes, Pamela Springsteen,  Bruce Springsteen s little sis, was in the 1982 coming-of-age teen classic “Fast Times at Ridgemont High.” Pamela, then 19, played a Ridgemont High cheerleader with an overabundance of school spirit. Bruce referenced the film during the Wednesday, May 26, broadcast of his “From My Home To Yours” show on SiriusXM s E Street Radio channel. The theme of the show was “Radio, Radio.” The “Fast Times at Ridgemont High” reference came up when Bruce played the power-pop burner “Raised on the Radio” by the Ravyns. “The Ravyns, R-A-V-Y-N-S, with the lovely Raised on the Radio,  Bruce said. “Now, the Ravyns were out of Baltimore, and were best known for this record, cut in 1982 and featured on the Fast Times at Ridgemont High soundtrack a film that also featured my fabulous little sister Pam.”

Bruce Springsteen Hometown exhibit reopens at Freehold museum

A personal scrapbook made by Bruce Springsteen’s mother, Adele. Adele Springsteen’s 1943 high school yearbook.  A Civil War document that includes Alexander Springsteen, of lineal descent to Bruce Springsteen. A  1801 document signed by John Springsteen, a patriot of the Revolution and direct ancestor to Bruce Springsteen. The exhibit also celebrates the centennial of Freehold Borough, which was in 2019, and its opening came six days after the 70th birthday of Freehold-native Springsteen in 19. There are  more than 150 items on display, many from the Bruce Springsteen Archives and Center for American Music at Monmouth University. Melissa Ziobro, Monmouth University’s Specialist Professor of Public History, and Bernadette Rogoff, director of collections for MCHA, are the co-curators. Eileen Chapman, director of the Springsteen Archives, and Robert Santelli, founding director of the Grammy Museum in Los Angeles, are advisors to the exhibit.
