Extra patrols in Breightmet tonight after recent disorder incidents

GMP Bolton North posted that they were patrolling the area due to trouble in the area. It comes as police crack down on illegal gatherings breaking current coronavirus restrictions. A police spokesman said: There are extra officers patrolling the Breightmet area this evening. Officers have been patrolling the New Lane, Monks Lane, Sandhurst Drive and Beechcroft Avenue areas of Breightmet and Bradshaw. This is in response to recent incidents of disorder. At Manchester Magistrates Court the five people from Bolton were among a slew of offenders from throughout Greater Manchester convicted of ignoring the rules last September and October. Three of the people who attended gatherings in the Bolton did not turn up for their hearings and were convicted in their absence.

Man and two women charged following alleged attack on police officers

Police A MAN and two women have been arrested in connection with an alleged attack on police officers. Police were called to Harwood in the early hours of yesterday to reports of a drunken man walking in and out of traffic, causing a disturbance in the neighbours. Officers say when they attempted to make an arrest they were assaulted. Three people, all from Breightmet, have now been charged in connection with the incident. Gareth Sockett, aged 32, of Scorton Avenue, has been charged with being drunk and disorderly and two counts of assaulting an emergency worker. Jennifer Edwards, aged 27, and Natalie Dawson, aged 31, both of Monks Lane, have both been charged with two counts of assaulting an emergency worker.
