Other participants who are assisting the Black-owned hair company include Capital Factory, Willow Growth Partners, and Lightspeed Venture Partners. Monique Little founded YGN in 2016. Her beauty brand is currently based in Dallas. Dallas Innovates also said that YGN was created when Little realized that she needed a method of protecting her hair, while looking good on the go, after giving birth. In response, Little opted to create a pre-tied and satin-lined headwrap, using her sewing machine. A demand for headwraps from her Instagram followers led to making and selling her creations online.
