NEWTON Municipal Clerk Lorriane Read will retire after 33 years as town clerk on Sept. 1.
Read s last day will be July 30 as she will use unused sick time until her official retirement day on Sept. 1, said Town Manager Thomas Russo, Jr.
With Read s retirement, the town will lose three long-time employees over the next few months. Police Chief Robert Osborne and Kathy Citterbart, the Land Use Administrator who also serves as secretary to the town Planning Board, will also retire this year.
Russo said permanent replacements for the three will be announced later this year.
