When Kim Moran’s daughter grew sad, then depressed, then suicidal all in the space of two-and-a-half months, help was hard to find.
She was 11.

“We ended up in hospital with a suicidal 11-year-old,” said Moran, the chief executive officer of Children’s Mental Health Ontario. “And because we waited for treatment and waited until she was in crisis, it took a long time to treat her and for her to come back to being a happy kid.”
