Erdenes-Tavantolgoi JSC introduces business growth plan for coming years

Gankhuyag Battulga, CEO of Erdenes-Tavantolgoi JSC today, March 10, delivered a press briefing to give update on some timely issues.  On March 9, the state-owned company’s board of directors convened and approved a business plan ‘A6-20’ defining the company’s growth goals and targets in coming years.  As stated in the plan, Erdenes-Tavantolgoi JSC will implement 20 large-scale projects until 2025, including development of coal concentrate, Tavantolgoi power plant and a water supply project, achieving huge growth.    As a result, annual coal production of the company will hit 45 million tons, sales revenue will grow up to MNT 10 trillion with net profit reaching MNT 3.7 trillion and dividends totaling about MNT 700 billion will be distributed in a year and job places created by Erdenes Tavantolgoi will increase to 5,500.  According to Gankhuyag, a citizen holding 1,072 shares of the company will become entitl

5,000 young people to receive skills training for employment this year

2021-03-10 16:37:55 Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ At its regular meeting on March 10, the Cabinet approved the Training Youth for Employment project. As part of the project, 1,000 young people aged between 18 and 34, who have been out of work for the last three months, but are willing to change their lives, will be monthly offered a month-long skills training courses with a grant of MNT 1 million. Information about the project will be provided to the public at least 10 days ahead of the submission days. Those interested are allowed to apply virtually or in-person. Aimag and district Labor and Welfare Service Departments, Family, Youth and Child Development Agency and its departments will be in charge of the registration.

Prime Minister meets with International Monetary Fund Resident Representative

2021-03-09 17:54:14 On March 9, Prime Minister L.Oyun-Erdene met with International Monetary Fund (IMF) Resident Representative for Mongolia Mr. Seok Hyun Yoon.  At the meeting, the Prime Minister underlined that this year marks 30th anniversary since Mongolia joined the International Monetary Fund and thanked for its budgetary support for Mongolia and prompt action to Mongolia’s request for emergency financial assistance under the Rapid Financing Instrument.  He also mentioned that as a result of the IMF’s Extended Fund Facility for 2017 and 2020 Mongolia’s economy showed positive signs with reduced budget deficit and economic stability and macro environment promoted. Afterwards, the PM provided information on the government’s comprehensive plan of MNT 10 trillion for economic recovery and health protection as well as the vaccination program underway.
