thing that he has said previously 23 debates which is what they were, and 23 primary debates in 2012 are far too many and we need to limit them and the exposure of the kancandidat and yes the publicity of the debates and having the ideas heard, but there were too many. so it is part and parcel of that, too. i would be with you on the separation of the news division and the entertainment division, but unfortunately the average person does not make those distinctions and we struggle with the editorial board of the washington post and the news arm of the washington post which never the twain shall meet. and people don t always understand that either. so that is the rub of you and me included, but i think that reince is at something more creative here as it relates to money raising. and i want to switch topics before i let you guys go, because the san diego mayor is in rehab or is in therapy for this week and next.
brewing out west. a primary, a republican primary, liz cheney announcing she is going to challenge incumbent senator enzi. and he was asked about it by the the washington post. he said well, she said if i run, she wasn t going to run. but obviously that wasn t correct. the question: what is your relationship with liz cheney. enzi, i thought we were friends. question, are you at all concerned with cheney s potential fundraising prowess considering her ties to the former vice president and the bush administration? enzi: money raising has always ban problem for me. does her challenge give you any second thoughts about reelections? enzi, no. we re back with the panel. start with steve. it s interesting. that s not what i was going to say. that is an interesting exchange. mike enzi gave an interview last week to jonathan martin to the new york times. he talked about a phone call he had with liz cheney said in effect she called me to say she might be running. sort of left it at that th
you have two things going on. one, messaging function even though we have been paying close attention as most of your viewers have for sure for many weeks and months to this race as it developed that this traditionally is the start of the presidential race and these candidates are sort of introducing themselves particularly the challenger, mitt romney, to the american public. that s important. but you re right, maybe that can be done certainly seems like it can be done in less time than four days. however, i think the other function of the money raising, donor maintenance and sort of enthusiasm is perhaps more important than in past cycles, particularly on the money side because for the first time we see since these post water gate forms, you see both k57candidat opting out and sort of the end of fund-raising for the presidential campaign. now it is the half way point and particularly with the super pacs, they need to gin up big
to your people running for congress and people running for senate, will you support changing this law? will you support going into the senate and standing there and fighting the-to-change this law, pass this law, roll this back? i have to say, i hear you, i hear the passion, it s operating on both sides. it s not equal. a, it s not equal. first of all, not equal, and secondly we do absolutely have all these progressives saying, we won t go into the super pac. but certainly answering the president on the money raising, i m not sure that there are no ideas being displayed here. in fact there, are a lot. and we do have a real choice. one party said we will make taxes less for the wealthiest americans. we will restrict choice. let s talk about some real thing things. let me say this i ve been in congress, i ve been a governor. i know ho to you get things done. neither party will get it done.
anything as dramatic as this. you know, we ve become real attached to the fact that military personnel love their animals, and we want to do everything we can to keep them together. sounds great. it s a noble thing to do, right? if, in fact, that is what terry crisp is doing. instead, keeping them honest tonight, cnn s drew griffin has discovered only a slim fraction of the $26 million that woman raised could even possibly have gone towards rescuing dogs. and as you ll see, the charity watchdog group has doubts how that slim fraction was spent. as they put it, the numbers don t seem to add up. the appeal though, reuniting dogs and troops, is powerful. just as it was 6 1/2 years ago after hurricane katrina when crisp was running an organization called noah s wish. the appeal then was to reunite pets and survivors. terry crisp joins me. she is in sacramento, california. good to see you. good to see you, anderson, too. and you brought an animal with you? this is tabasc
