After Bryson Barnes and Mack Howard’s decision to enter transfer portal, here’s a look at who the Utes have to back up Cam Rising in 2024. QB Nate Johnson also is gone.
Coming off a much-needed 52-point win over Arizona State last week, it was time for Utah to show fans what they were really made of as they hit the road to take on No. 5 Washington in Seattle. Luckily for viewers, the match turned out to be an intense showcase of perseverance and skill.
Lately, however, the No. 18 Utes have shown some cracks on that side of the ball. Utah (6-2, 3-2 Pac-12, No. 18 in CFP) enters Saturday’s showdown with Arizona State having allowed 33.5 points and 395.5 yards over its last two games. The Utes have showed a sudden vulnerability in run defense during that stretch, yielding 287 combined rushing yards to USC and Oregon.
