There are rumors circulating that Gov. Tim Walz will make an announcement as early as Wednesday regarding Minnesota schools.
The governor in December said all elementary schools could choose to move to in-person learning starting January instead of basing the decision on county infection rates in an effort to prioritize the state s youngest learners.
And on Wednesday, Axios Twin Cities said in its morning newsletter the governor is expected to announce new guidance for public high schools sometime this week.

MDH Infectious Disease Director Kris Ehresmann said Minnesota was still only receiving a small supply of vaccines each week from the federal government. She urged people to be patient with providers due to the very limited supply.
Ehresmann also cautioned Minnesotans about vaccine-related scams. She listed some red flags that mean you re the target of an attempted scam:
Asking for information like your social security number or credit card number

ROCHESTER, Minn. - Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz is hoping to address the immediate impact of the pandemic by releasing a new education plan.
The goal of the ‘Due North Education Plan is to make sure every child has access to a world-class education no matter their race or zip code.
During a press conference on Monday, Walz said, “We re going to have to first and foremost recover from COVID. We re going to have to make extra opportunities available to bring our kids back to where they need to be and change that system to look towards the future. We ve learned a lot during COVID. Not only things that don t work but things that do work for kids.”
