Monday COVID-19 coverage: Missouri adds 189 cases in past 24 hours

11:30 a.m.: Cooper County Health Department hosts 2 vaccination events this week On Tuesday, April 20, Prairie Home will host an COVID-19 vaccination clinic. The clinic will start at 9 a.m. and end at 11 a.m. The event will be held at Prairie Home United Methodist Church, located at 544 Hwy Drive. There will be 100 doses of the Moderna vaccine.  Call 660-841-5524 or email cityclerk@cityprairiehome.com to schedule an appointment. On Thursday, April 22, Bunceton will have a COVID-19 vaccination clinic at the Bunceton Lions Club, located at 319 West Main Street. The event will also last from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. There will be 100 doses of the Moderna vaccine.

5:40 p.m.: Cole County adds 6 new positive cases The Cole County Health Department will now show positive case totals by day, which reflects the date the specimen was collected instead of the date the results were received by the Health Department. This change will cause a delay in the daily totals being reported for the current day. The county is also no longer reporting active or isolated cases. There have been 7,781 cases in Cole County, an increase of 6 cases since Friday. There have been 270 cases in long-term care facilities. In the updated graph below, you can see the number of cases added by specimen collection date for the month of April thus far.

8:15 a.m.: Over 30% of Missourians have initiated vaccination The Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services added 198 new COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours. The total number of cases in Missouri now stands at 493,728. DHSS reported no new deaths in the last 24 hours. The total number of COVID-19 related deaths is 8,515 since the pandemic began. DHSS started reporting vaccination data on Jan. 27. Numbers will update as providers report data to the state.
