An 18 wheeler had the top ripped off and wound up on its side on i95. Its like a twister movie. Thats the best way to describe it. Reporter joe and fellow horse owners hunkered down at the sand and spurs stable. It was like a freight train. All of a sudden, it was black and everything, wind and everything came through and blue everything. I had never seen nothing like it. Reporter this horse named elvis had a gash requiring stitches. He hit the hinge on the door there, and the hinge went through his left side. Reporter and the horse trailer flipped. Its incredible. To pick a trailer up . Thats a 4horse trailer. Thats easily 5, 6 tons, and it picked it up like its a piece of like a piece of like a matchstick. Terrible time for that. In Pembroke Pines roofs damaged, trees uprooted and a basketball hoop ended up right there, in a swimming pool. Severe weather also hitting Pompano Beach where buildings including Storage Facility for the Goodyear Blimp were all damaged. Horse trailers and stables hit also by strong winds. C`nstance in hollywood a couple had to be rescued out of their damagedobile home. The storm also knocked down trees in that area. And boats ended up under water in ft. This thing happen. Clarar bauman lives in the neighborhood behind the movie theater. From what ieard it was really bad. It didnt look too bad. But this is a war zone. Hatzel here in the panning lot adjacent to the movie co. A significant amount of trees were upapproached traffic signs easily pulled from the ground. At around 92 noon crews started change and National Weather Service Officials arrived on sight site to survey the damage like this massive tree uprooted by the winds. Its roots lifted the heavy concrete sidewalk from its foundation. Ive been through a lot of hurricanes. It was nothing l le that. Hatzel folks from the National Weather service are looking at a several things, what direction the trees face. If theyre facing Different Directions thats a sign of rotation. P if theyre facing one direction, likel likely the size of trees and indicates the strength of the winds. Video. Its absolutely incredible. He had a dash cam built into his car and automatically starts recording every time he turns the car on. This was taken along dixie highway and northeast 16th street south of Pompano Beach. That video shows this large funnel with stuff we almost never see here in south florida.
